Kate

Kate holding her "free" bunny she got from the hospital

Well, what a night/day. I took Kate into the insta-care last night around 6:00p.m. She had been coughing all day and her breathing was starting to look labored and rapid. We waited 1 1/2 hours and then right after going back the doctor saw her and sent us to the ER (her oxygen levels were way too low). We were there a couple more hours, she got chest ex-rays, 2 breathing treatments, and constant oxygen. After having the oxygen for just a little while, it didn't take her long to snap out of her lethargic state. Man, she was talking a mile a minute. It was funny. She kept asking who everyone's names were when they came in to check her. And asked all sorts of questions. I really couldn't get her to stop...talking.

Well, the doctor was still concerned about her oxygen levels and that her heart rate was staying quite high so he wanted to keep her over night. Well because the pediatric wing is actually in the other hospital they had to ambulance her over there. Fun for her....will not be fun for us $$$$. Susan came over (THANKS AGAIN!) to stay with her while I went home to swap places with Shayne (Maggie needed to be fed). Shayne stayed the whole night and morning, so I don't really know the details there...I just heard she hardly slept. I guess she was pretty wired from the excitement and medications?

So she is home now and will be getting breathing treatments for a week or two. I left out what was really wrong with her because we don't really know. Ahhh kids!

Stylin'

Some of you may remember the Scott Easter P-A-R-T-A-Y. Well, Dad got a few good shots and this one I couldn't resist posting...the glasses are courtesy of Shayne who bought them for Mom to relive her Yuba days. McCall saw them and fell in love. I think if I recall correctly, Shayne would only give them to her if she would really wear them...so how many times HAVE you worn them McCall?

Congrats to Phyl!

I hope that it is ok for me to share the news that Phyl has been accepted at the University of Utah for the graduate program. Good news for the Heatons (not so good for the grandparents) We are happy for them and assure them that we will take good care of Henry until they return!!

Lake Powell Fishing

Well, As you can see from the pics McCall posted, we had a good time fishing at Lake Powell. Papa, Cooper and I took off Fri after work, and came home Sun afternoon. We fished most of the day on Sat and caught about 40 or so fish. Then Sun morn we caught 12 or so in about an hour and a half. Coop said that he "loved sleeping on the Ocean". We slept and stayed on Papa's boat.

It was Cooper's first time in a boat and the first "real" fishing trip he had been on. We were catching a lot of fish and some of them were pretty big, so He got tired realing them in. He asked Papa and I to real them in and he got on the back of the boat with the net and netted them when they got close.

Bar Be Que

So, I know we've all talked about it, but are we (the Utah Scotts) going to get together Saturday? I have to come down to cut at CH for an hour, but we would love to get together! Let us know.
I'll let Jaren fill you in on the fishing trip, but I'll supply the photos...

March Madness, Susan, and Brent

It truly is March Madness when Susan Jeane wins her 3rd consecutive MM pool. I think she won at her office in 2005, she won my friends pool in 2006 and then again in 2007. Mom, I have your $70 here at my office waiting for you or remind me when I see you this weekend. Nice work. Did you win your office pool this year as well?

Brenton, could you do a post in this blog explaining what the deal is with your work and grants and what you are trying to do and what you are hoping happens and all the crap. Nobody really knows what is going on, no one can give me a straight answer. Let us know what is up, give every detail.

Fish Out of Water

We took Henry swimming this weekend, and he loved it! We had to pry him out of the water after his skin was red and wrinkled. Of course the water was bath temperature and he loves his bath. It was the best watching him experience it for his first time ...trying to figure out how to move and where the bubbles were coming from (the ones coming out of the heaters on the side of course). You all are more experienced than we are, but it is so fun watching your kid experience things for the first time. And Henry isn't even walking!
What did everyone else do for conference weekend? I heard Cooper got to go fishing with his Dad and Papa...how did it go???
