Little jaunt for mom and dad

So Dad and I have been wanting to take a little trip like we did to Death Valley and so we went early yesterday morning up Cedar Canyon and around to Torrey and spent the night there and circled back around today. It was very nice and we really enjoyed it - it was cooler there, too!

The small rural communities were great, but it made me glad I don't live there. It did make me nostalgic for the Nephi days, as they reminded me a lot of the old Nephi days when you kids were young.

Anyway, here are a few pictures - hope everyone had a great 24th of July.

Congratulations to Emma and McKayl who became the newest Scotts to join the church. It was a fun day. Thanks for letting me share it with you!

WAY TO GO DAISY!!For those who haven't heard, Daisy did the Boston Marathon yesterday in just 4:01.26. Way to go, Daisy. We are all very proud of you. Everyone I've talked to says that is a great time for Boston (or any marathon for that matter). You are to be commended for your hard work and dedication

Wrestling

If anyone is interested, Coop will defend his title as an undefeated wrestler in the 38lb. weight division THIS Saturday, at Cedar High. It will start around 9am and he wrestles 3 times, it will probably last 2-3 hours. We'd love to see you there!

Wrestling Champion

So we took Cooper to Milford for his first wrestling tournament.  He has been practicing the past two weeks and has a hard time concentrating so we had no idea how he would do.  Coop weighed in at a whopping 37 lbs and then wrestled three times.  The first match he pined the kid in about 45 seconds, the second match they went all three rounds and he won by a score of 15-7 and then the third match he pined the kid in about 20 seconds.  

It's hilarious because he just smiles the whole time while he is wrestling.  He shakes the kid's hand, they ref tells them to wrestle, and then he shoots in and grabs the other kid's legs.  His favorite move is the "cross-face" to get the kid on his back and then he will squeeze as hard as he can until he gets the pin.

So 29 years ago today, after an 11-month pregnancy, our little redhead arrived! We were so glad to finally get him here and he made up for the long time coming, by sleeping and sleeping and sleeping some more.

We love you and hope you have a great birthday! I can't believe how old my children are getting (not me, my children)

Wouldn't it be fun to see Christopher (from Nephi who shared your birthday) again?

I took Cooper and Porter to the old ranch the other day. We were shooting at targets when Coop noticed the pheasants running everywhere. He asked, "Can I hunt one dad?" I said sure knowing that he rarely hits a still target from 15 feet. So, we sneek through the "East" field and locate a bunch of birds. Cooper shoots twice and misses twice. Then, he tells me he is going to hit a big colorful boy pheasant. Sure enough, his next shot hits the bird in the pic. To finish off the experience, we clean the pheasant, take it home, and eat it for dinner. The boys loved it and tell everyone it tastes "just like chicken".

MO-EE TA-WA

Congrats to McCall!!! Her drill team took first in region, and went on to take 6th in State this past weekend! MO-EE (clap clap) TA-WA!

Let's Celebrate!

Maggie had her 18 month doctor's appointment yesterday. Everything went well. She now weighs 20 lbs. 4 oz. Hooray!!! She gained almost 3 lbs since her 15 month appt. Awesome! She even grew 2 inches. Now she is on the charts. 4th% in weight and 8th% in height. We'll take it! So a little shout out to little Maggs.

Region for Mohey

FYI: Our region competition is this Saturday at Hurricane High School. It starts at 9:30am, but the doors open at 8:30 (i would suggest you come early - seating will be limited). I would LOVE to have as many people there cheering for my girls as possible - so consider this a SPECIAL invitation! Us, Canyon View and Hurricane will compete for a chance to go to State (2 of the 3 teams will go).
Shayne, since Drill Team is considered a Sport in Utah, will you be covering this event for the paper:)? I'll THINK about giving an interview...
